ACWA Field Services (NMES) and EthosEnergy Announce Strategic Partnership to Deliver On-Site Rotor Lifetime Solutions for Frame 7 Turbines in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
RIYADH, NOMAC Maintenance Energy Services (NMES), the field service affiliate of Saudi-based ACWA Power, and EthosEnergy, a global leader in gas turbine components, refurbishment and engineering, have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to introduce a transformative, on-site, Rotor Lifetime Assessment and Extension (RLE) solution for GE Frame 7E, EA, and FA gas turbines within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in providing end-to-end on-site rotating equipment services with unmatched speed and efficiency across the region and beyond.
EthosEnergy is globally recognized for its mature Westinghouse gas turbines and is a trusted alternative OEM provider of rotor, hot gas path (HGP), and compressor parts across a broad range of technologies—from GE Frame 3 to Frame 9. The company offers proven experience in designing, manufacturing, and installing Frame 7 rotors and subcomponents.
NMES, ACWA Power’s internal LTSA and field service provider, is a global partner to independent power producers (IPPs) and government utilities. Specializing in delivering advanced workshop-level capabilities directly on-site, NMES offers services including rotor unstacking and restacking, laser welding and precision machining, on-site balancing and inspection, as well as critical NDT and on-site component replacement, which eliminates the risks and delays of overseas transport, customs clearance, shipping, and related costs.
Through this collaboration, NMES and EthosEnergy will jointly offer a fully integrated RLE solution that includes:
- Supply of seed rotors (new or certified refurbished)
- Full on-site rotor lifetime assessment and extension
- On-site Critical NDT and machining services
- Parts replacement and recertification
- Open/close/inspect of the unit as part of a HGP or MI
“We’re thrilled to partner with EthosEnergy, enabling us to deliver not only the expertise and machinery to perform these works on-site, but also the required parts, providing a comprehensive solution in the shortest timeframe, and at the most competitive price,” said Harald Schmit, EVP of Field Services at ACWA Power and Head of NMES.
“This partnership is a testament to what’s possible when two industry leaders come together with a shared commitment to innovation and performance,” said EthosEnergy Executive Vice President of Optimization Solutions, Patricia Gonzalez. “By combining our technical depth in rotor engineering and manufacturing with NMES’s world-class field execution, we are enabling operators to significantly reduce outage duration, cost and risk. It’s a positive step for the region’s energy infrastructure, and we are proud to be a part of it.”
